"By risking nothing, we risk everything"

"Peter Knight is a magician. His Masterclass had his audience and participants hypnotised. He took us all back to the basics of making music together, not with a tune, but with a single sound. I have no clue as to why my tears started to flow when it was over, but I knew that the very essence of my musicality had been changed by Peter"

Sian Phillips, Director, Fiddle Festival of Britian

"I have to say that the recent workshop Peter gave us on aspects of improvisation within traditional music is quite simply the best I have ever experienced within our genre. It left our student body - excellent players themselves, and hard to impress - both amazed and excited, and has already resulted in several serious new directions of study, particularly for our fiddle players"

Brian McNeill, Musician and former Head of Traditional Music, Glasgow Academy of Music

What To Expect...

"The magic of being stretched beyond my existing skills set to create music that I barely suspected existed within me was profoundly moving and so inspiring. The additional magic of watching each person take their own musical journey into their own previously unknown musical voice made the weekend deeply heartfelt for all of us.

I brought home a fiddle overflowing with new and glorious treasures that will blossom over the coming weeks and months. Heartfelt thanks to Peter for his insights and nurturing of us all"

Carly Stevens

The experiences I have shared with previous participants have made my life that much richer, and I have been rewarded by the process of watching individuals tackling their particular fears and challenges and overcoming them in a heartwarming and often spectacular fashion.

It is an uplifting and totally engaging process, and with the advantage of hindsight I feel that it is an opportunity that anyone with an Instrument and a genuine love of Music can benefit from. The gatherings are a two day retreat from life's realities, and a chance to become completely immersed in the process of creativity.

The course is held in the beautiful village of Lower Oddington in the Cotswolds, and is designed to encourage musicians to find their own voice, regardless of experience. Some participants are seasoned performers, and some are beginners. Because I don't focus on technique but rather an approach to music, it works. Beginners start to find their own 'voice' sooner than they would, and experienced performers become revitalised with fresh ideas, often breaking through barriers that have been holding them back.

"Peter curates a roomful of musical epiphanies"

Sarah Ibberson

Freshly prepared, restaurant quality food is plentiful, and a special guest is invited to join the class for the Saturday night session.

On the Friday evening there will be the option to attend the regular pre Masterclass gathering, giving me and the participants an opportunity to meet each other and break the ice ahead of the weekend.

If you are passionate about Music, enjoy the company of like minded people, wish to move on from whatever stage of musical ability you are at and are open to challenge, then this is the place to be.

"I had an extraordinary experience on the masterclass this year. I had no idea what to expect, and was so lacking in confidence when it came to my playing abilities that I wasn't sure what I could hope to achieve.

Peter's warmth, humour, kindness and patience were the perfect antidote to my nerves and he effortlessly built trust between us individually and as a group, such that we could attempt what felt like the absolute impossible.

Thanks to his encouragement and guidance, I discovered a completely new world of experience, both musical and personal, that was profoundly moving and hugely enjoyable.

There is obviously a long journey ahead towards mastery of improvisation, but Peter helped each one of us open the door, discover the path and take the steps with new found assuredness"
